Any way to attest the PageRank in 2008 for a domain?

    Hi,

the PR of my domain recently increased from 7 to 8 and I need to attest the exact date of this update.

Is there any chance I can attest that the PageRank of my domain has not changed over the last months? More specifically:

    - is there a way to get a history of page rank
    - is there a confident source that states when the last update took place (I have read about end of July, but didn't find any announcement by google)

    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

Fraid I don't know of a tool that has a history of PR for all sites on the web - that would have to be one massive database.

Don't know of a reliable source on PR updates either.

    Why do you ask?

It's just that if you're trying to track what it was that changed it, it might be better to get your website on Google Webmasters. This way you can check for any newer backlinks (dates they where found are shown).

I really need to attest that my PR has been at 8 for more than a month now due to business reasons (payment is related to the PR). Even google analytics does not seem to track the PR history, right? Thats too bad, I have opt in for google analytics since more than a year now, but this info seems hidden from the reports...

Btw, another solution for me would be a way to attest that my PR has not changed since e.g. July. But from what I read in the net, there was an PR update end of September, right? Did that have an impact on top level domains too? Or was it only to keep the Google Toolbar up to date?

I'm afraid I don't know when the last PR update was. It's really too bad that payment is based on PR... it's really a bad way to measure success because it's not necessarily reflective of better rankings, more traffic and more sales.

If you can show that ranings have improved you may still be able to get payment from your client, otherwise take it as a lesson not to take on work that relies on inaccurate measurements of success.

P.S: no, Google analytics does not show PR history.

search page rank history in google, there are a few pages there that show when the last page rank update actually occured, if its over a month ago, then you've got your answer.

I don't think there is a tool that actually tracks it, altho if this is how you work, id suggest screen dumps monthly when you take a client on

I'm not really sure. I know there used to be a website that could do it but it was shut down.
