Any way around the new Wordpress image manager?

The newer image management area of Wordpress is driving me completely up a wall. While I don't mind it if I only need to add one image to a post, on one of my blogs, I need to include numerous images (small icons after each link in job listings). It's a royal pain in the ass to do this now, when it used to be incredibly simple, as my images always stayed visible right below my post window to be easily added before.

Does anyone know if there's some plugin or something that would enable something more like the previous feature? I don't even care if there are two options, but I need another option. I can't stand how much time is wasted now on what should be a simple list post. I've been looking around for some solution for a few days now and keep coming up empty.

Thanks, but that actually looks a lot more complicated - I'm looking for something like the past regular uploader. In other words, there are already too many steps and features in their new image tool / gallery, which severely slows down the posting process for a blog where I have to post quite a few images per post. All I want is the ability to add images from directly below the write post box again, but without screwing around with the rest of the image gallery tool - in other words, be able to upload from either screen, and be able to add them both the new way and old way. That plugin looks like it would interfere with the larger gallery tool, and maybe even involve more steps and choices because of it's ability to customize things more. :(
