Any WAMP like GUI alternative for Ubuntu ?

    I use 12.04 and has XAMPP. It has a GUI but the problem is it is not working now. Has it something to do with managing my VPS using terminal ? XAMPP open in Opera but when I click on phpmyadmin, it says no such folder. I checked using GUI and found that MySQL is not running. Even after restart same issue. But both Apache and MySQL was seen started on terminal when I typed the command. Is there any other simple to use GUI alternative ?

    I just play with different scripts. Testing, modifying etc.

    Webmin is available as local server ? IIRC it is just a control panel, right ?
