Since yesterday i think, im having trouble receiving emails, im mostly getting duplicates coming through, same emails since yesterday, getting others slowly, about 15 hours late.

Experiencing any problems with your email yourself?

i got their 20MBit connection and never used their email once. and for got sake dont call them, you get a call centre in India and people that cant speak English.

4 days 20 calls later, and still nothing. so i called the man himself. RB and his office had the problem sorted out in 20 minutes and i got 50% off my service for life :D

see sending a deaf girl to talk to people in India that cant speak well, just made the issue worse than it was to start with.

Hi Samantha, i prefer using my ISP email for the reason of not needing to login to anything and usually its fine, i am guilty of checking my email way too often, like obsessively, since yesterday its slowed down my checking for email as im getting tired of deleting 100+ duplicates everytime i open outlook. :)

Seems almost everything call wise gets diverted to India these days, no offence to any Indians reading this thread.

Its cool that you got it sorted, Branson is one cool guy but whoever is running Virgin Media for him needs to get services to how they were before they took over.

Hehe :) i can see how you could read the thread title another way.

I can totally understand the companies using call centres in India, its beneficial on both sides, the growth in India and China is quite something.

I watched a program this year where they talked about the call centre guys choosing a typical name of american or british guys to give a sense of being something else, lol

I guess it will all improve in time though, if i ran a large company and could get the call centre staff cheaper then i would do the same.

the names ...accent again,.... names being pronounced otherwise would lead to conversations about how to correctly pronounce the name! ... and not the subject matter at hand!

    2. more for a protection against ego issues, at any odd day one might find a person who has no regard for the person on the other side,.... and if situation turns into namecalling! .... yeah thats not my name buddy carry on! :D

I was working for GE had quite a good time there,... but im a geek, im better with the keyboard than the phone! ;)

To be honest theres plenty of call centres here in the UK that can be quite rude and they have no excuses but still try and palm everything off as computer errors.

I always say to myself that there may be an error related to computer data but its usually a human who put it there. :)

the real problem,... i mean the way i see it, is we're given a set of instructions in our training period about the product, and when we hit the floor/ hold the phone we're given a script to recite! .... yes recite, anything said outside of it is looked down upon.

i was working for a J.C P * nn*y credit cards division [out-bound], i mean,...people default on payments and then have a huge take on the big default charge and why is it there!!! And they actually want us to brand it as the "computer error" else theyll have to cough up some extra charges! why not pay in time!!! Just like samantha says "intel inside, idiot outside"!

but for laughs have a look at this! ... BUT just a movie, and far from truth! But a good laugh!

Interesting that you mention reciting a script, ive noticed when dealing with credit card companies, banking etc even in the UK, they tend to rabble a lot of stuff and if i interupt them in anyway its like they begin to malfunction, theres no human normal conversation.

Ive grown to accept also that when i phone a company i have to press 2, then 1, then 4 for the department, to get through to the wrong one, who puts you through to someone else, to listen to music for 20mins.... :p

    Thats a funny movie. :)
