    I receive some traffic from a few directories - first tier and second tier. It's mostly from the directories with significant link popularity.

    No traffic from general directories.

    Traffic I receive from directories is from those very specialised (like regionals ones for one of my site about a specific region)

    I've been pleasantly surprised to see that I've gotten traffic from King Bloom consistently over the last few months. This is over several different sites & niches, so I'm not sure the topic matters. I got in when it was free, though - think they've switched to paid by now.

    with one of my sites i did some paid directory submission last year, and upon renewal this year i did a little research using web trends, and the directory that impressed me the most was king bloom sending over more than 100 visitors, not bad i thought!

    although i dont really expect traffic from directories you do still get some once in a blue moon.

    Yes, Kingbloom directory is generating traffic for my sites. I have just submitted to iwebtool directory. Will let u guys know if it is helping with traffic.

    I am not in DMOZ yet , but I actually assumed you get at least some traffic from being listed there and some other major directories ...

    traffic from directories is low but its highly targeted traffic. generally conversions from directory traffic is very high.

    Well most directories get so little traffic, so it is tough for someone to wonder into a small directory and happen to look for your area, and then pick your site. That said what can it hurt? The links sure help you in the other ones, and any traffic that has come to you for your area cant hurt. I just don't see the harm, but would love suggestions for a better way to spend the few hours at start up.
