I would suggest that you take a look at your interests and hobbies to get ideas. Blog about something you really enjoy and have some knowledge about. If you do this your content will be higher quality and you will enjoy your time working on the blog much more.
What KY said.... and, here's an easy one.... Politics. The 2008 race is right around the corner. You won't get rich, but you might make a few pennies.
Yea, it is much easier making content about something you are interested in. Trying to blog every day about something you are not into will get old quick.
If someone started a political blog and updated in daily from now until the 2008 elections, do you really think it would only earn pennies? Are there any small political blogs that are earning good money? Oh sorry that was way off topic. Bask to the point, I'd have to second that the most important thing is bloggng about something you have great expertise/experience/interest in so A. You don't get bored B. You actually have something valuable to give to your readers that distinguishes your blog from the millions of others out there just like it.
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Google's AdSense policy states that "no ads can be placed upon politics site"? I am note sure tough...
CNN has political content and Google ads. But I have read a fair number of posts from people that have a political site and google ads running on them with no problem. Maybe someone in the past that had a political site and got banned and thought it was because of their content when it might have been someting else, becasue I have heard that rumor too.
i don't think having political content causes banning. Cause lots of news sites using them and they have lots of political content.
