I am just starting with Adsens on my pages and was wondering if you could give me a few tips on how to get more traffic/clicks. The ads have been on there for four hours and I got 40 impressions (the site is new) but no clicks, how can I get more clicks? Thanks
Get more clicks by getting more traffic. Get more traffic by writing regular, original, useful content, exchanging links with related sites, submitting to directories, dropping your link on forums/blog comments (but don't spam) and telling your friends. Traffic builds up slowly - the results of you effort probably won't be immediately obvious.
40 impressions for a new site is really a good start. Maybe you can share your site addres to us so we can give any review of your ads placement or etc to improve your CTR. Good Luck
Assuming that your already have a good website and good traffic, here is a list of some tips that may work (I encourage you to do more research in DP forums): - READ THE TOS - Have a look at the "Google heat map", there are maps for forums and blogs also. - Don't use borders - Don't put images they people may thing belong to the ads - Use blue links(#0000CC for example) - You can put up to 3 ad blocks/page, dont put more than 1 block on small pages - Try different placements, colors, ad formats ... This is all I can remember for now, I hope it will help you

You'll find that learning how to implement AdSense and improve your site is something that happens incrementally. There's a great book I've read called "Search Engine Optimization: An Hour A Day," and the title is very revealing of the pace at which all this stuff takes place in making your site surface higher in search results, getting more traffic, and getting higher earnings from AdSense. While you should work as hard as you can on creating quality content for your site, bear in mind that the fruits of your SEO labor take time; that's why the "hour a day" rule is so true. You can spend 8 hours optimizing your site or 1 hour each day for 8 days -- you're not going to see results until time (and users) have weighed the value of your site and reward it in proportion to its quality.
