Crowd-source advice sites like Yahoo Answers have become a bit of a magnet for the maladjusted. Sure, there are plenty of average Joes just looking for ordinary information. But among the sites' many mundane queries, there's a sea of jaw-droppingly dumb discussions guaranteed to amaze and entertain

    This is an accurate assumption.

However to boomer_mitra while Google may send more traffic in general to a lot of sites it is not the case for all sites. My site is geared toward Google yet I receive more hits from Y! searches than Google.

I have heard Yahoo Answers works well, however the excessive posting of links in your answers can get you banned...you must be very careful

yahoo answers is great, sometimes what i do is actually i look for peopels questions, then instead of writing a reply i write a blog post in my blog about the answer and then send the link, great for traffic :D

Yahoo likes blogs and longtail keywords - combination of these will get you more traffic from yhoo.

I think you can concentrate on both, Google and Yahoo. The more sites you consider the more expected traffic you will get.
