    Hi there,

I am currently in the process of creating a sports forum(almost finished). Next thing is that I want to get some members for it. Do you have any tips for that? Of course I will be active in the forum and keep posting.

All Feedback's will be appreciated. :)

    Thanks
    Manoj

I run a very large sports forum, key point is run public sporting events for your members to participate in.

I think he means add something that keeps it interactive. So if its Football, then open up a Fantasy Football league?

I agree with GrantDapper. Something to build a sense of community but it is also important to have accurate and up-to-date information for whatever sport you are representing.

I would try a few different things:

-Promote your forum at promotion forums (Just Google Forum Promotion to find a few)
-Post on other sports forums that allow signature links with a link back to your forum
-Comment on blogs related to sports and leave a link back to your site when it is allowed
-Get involved with your forum, no one is going to go to an empty forum. That means you should do all you can to get the discussion going.

The main thing is to stick at it.

A lot of people give up to easily. Instead of spending 10 hours on it today, spend 1 hour a week for the next year :)
