    Hi Radislav,

You mentioned you're working with very competitive keywords. There is no guarantee you can be successful against the big guys if you're a new, little guy. AdWords likes click-thru rates, it also trusts advertisers who have been around longer than newbies, so you may have to bid high initially to get seen, to establish a click-thru rate history. Now whether you can afford that or not is another question.

But it's not that easy. You're worried that people will click and not buy. That's where you as a marketer must make sure your keyword list isn't so broad that it's attracting irrelevant clicks. Your matching strategy is crucial here, any broad match terms must be thoroughly negative-matched. Negative matches are any term that might be lumped in with your keywords: if you sell Elvis Presley memorabilia, you want to thoroughly research other terms that are searched for in the same breath as Elvis: Elvis Presley lyrics, Elvis Presley jokes etc. Not only because you may attract useless clicks, but also because your ad will be served more frequently without clicks, and will water down your click through rate.

You also have to make sure your ads are relevant to the keywords, and your campaigns are tightly targeted and organized. Your ad must properly reflect what the searcher will find on your landing page as well, and your landing page must have an offer that is attractive. It is far more complicated than setting up a campaign and waiting for the money to come in...it doesn't work like that. There are lots of things to manage.

Searchers generally do click several ads to compare prices, offers, etc. So you have to expect that behaviour.

That's just a nutshell. You should consider reading Perry Marshall's or Andrew Goodman's books on Adwords. If you want a free resource, you can check out our guide coming out on April 4 (see sig).

It's probably not a seasonality issue, more likely you are competing against sites with CTR history in a competitive market. You may find some success with more niche keywords that are related but not as competitive. You will have to do some deeper digging with keyword research for that.

go to overture.com to get keywords. The cool thing with overture is that you can see how many clicks a certain keyword got for an entire month.

egustafson88: That will vary from one blogging platform to another. Try asking in the Blogging forum for more specific information.
