Do it manually, or pay someone to do it. You wont get listed anywhere with those submission tools.

I agree with Masetek and would go with manual submission, the programs most likely dont submit to as many places as it claims it can, like 750,000 or similar, and even if the software does it will be to FFA's and things like that.

I do agree that directory submission can be time consuming if your submitting to lots and for a few sites too, but in the long run i think its the best way to go and of course you will know yourself then if you have submitted to a particular place or not.

Yes if you can afford to pay for someone to submit for you if your pressed for time i cant see any bad in that, just make sure their able to provide you with all the info you need and that they will complete the job.

Ive not used any services like that myself so i cant recommend unfortunately, but hopefully some of the other forum users who have used a pay submission service will be able to make a recommendation.

Manual submition is correct decision for you, i advice not to use any services, do it yourself, do it wise, and you will get the results you need.

A software-based automated submission is unlikely to work.

Choosing the right category alone is daunting enough a task when you're submitting to 50 directories. Software typically ain't smart enough to do it for us.

I would recommend paying some to do it manually!

I don't even think it would be too healthy to concentrate submissions all in one go, at least it might be risky from a SEO point of view.

It might raise flags, red ones I mean.

Submitting by hand paired by manual review by directory editors would spread out the link activation and appear more 'natural'...

Damn, maybe i should get into this Directory Submission service thing myself, i would do it for less than that, im quite suprised at the amount of people willing to pay someone else to do something so simple, this has opened up my eyes a little.

I review alot of submissions daily, and it is very obvious when "some" submission firms submit sites for you. The quality is very bad in some cases, and the sites they submit are often way below quality of "normal" submissions, they also make the most errors within submissions.. If a submission firm brings eg. 20 sites in a row, and there are errors in the first 5, all gets deleted for wasting my time.
On the other hand. Almost 99% of all "handmade" submissions from the website owner gets approved. (It is easy to spot the uniqueness in every submission)

My advice is to ask around and be sure you got a QUALITY submission firm to do this for you, if you dont want to do it yourself which IS the best way to go.

Well i dont actually find it boring, ive got so used to doing it all the time, maybe im a little bit geeky ;)

I guess its up to the individual and their situation, i know i have more time than i do money so i plump for the DIY options. :)

Automated submissions will prevent your site getting listed in all the directories that have some sort of captcha to weed out the robots. That's most directories of any significance. And remember that any directory that doesn't have one now, could easily install one tomorrow.

So manual is the way to go. Pay someone if you think they could do a better job than you at finding lists, writing descriptions and titles, paying attention to guidelines, and putting your site in the correct category.

You may have heard about this but I haven't seen in in any answer: programs like Directory Submitter (http://www.directorysubmitter.com) have a built-in list of directories (~400 at the moment) and when you choose one of them it loads the submission page and fills all the fields with the text you configured. You're the one that has to press the submit button so you can do any changes before that. It might speed things up anyway ;)
