Any tips for my site's SEO?

Hello all, please check my site www.glasswaredreams.com and give me any tips you can. The main keyword I am trying to optimize initially is "Lolita glasses". I am currently ranking 6/7 in the SERP's except for Yahoo! for the keyword phrase. What do I need to do to move in the top 1-3?

Just create quality content with your targeted keywords and for sure it will rank in Google and Yahoo

 

The site looks ok, looks like it needs more content though, and a little re-arranging. You could make some of the sites links like "contact us, etc the less important pages that you need come up in google, make them "nofollow" links.

 

Thanks fellas, what about my backlinks? am i going in the right direction with those? i am trying to get links slowly that have low outbound link limits. Just also realized how important anchor text was so I am trying to emphasize the proper key words for the text on each link.

 

Consider these factors in dealing with SEO:

1. Quality Content - content is king right?
2. On-Page Optimization - it deals with the proper use of title tags, headings (h1/h2 tags), description, meta tags, and keywords.
3. Off-Page Optimization - it deals with building links. Its responsible for getting quality of back links. Social bookmarking, classified ads, press release, blog commenting are just some of the techniques that falls under Off-Page Optimization.

1.) If you are creating a new blog entry, always put your target keyword in the title tag or simply in the title itself. Let say you want to optimize the word “make money online” since many people are searching on how to make money online in the search engine. So might as well, you’ll gonna construct your title like…”How to Make Money Online”. So for those people who will search for the keyword “make money online”, there is a big chance for you to rank your post on the 1st page of the search engine.

2.) Making quality content is an important factor to consider in SEO. A relevant content ensures a better listing from the search engine and give a creditability on your site. The latest trends among seo practitioners nowadays is to “hijack keyword”, it is ok to hijack keyword but make sure that you will make your original content out of the keyword that you grab and not just copy the content of other sites.

3.) I always emphases link building as an essential part of SEO. As you can see from my previous post, it explain a lot on how link building will help you to gain more traffic of visitors from search engine towards your site or blog. I remember a few days ago about this certain blogger, also considered as newly found friend in blogosphere, named Jerick, who is behind the blog Rickspot.Com. He told me that he already practicing SEO but his big problem is to gain big traffic. I simply advise him to go out of his blog, make comments to other blog, regularly visit other blogs or practice blog hopping as frequently as he can. For doing that, I guess he is happy now with the improvement of traffic from his blog.

4.) Use your keyword in your blog content. Some pro bloggers always advise to bold or italize the keyword twice or thrice so that Google crawlers might read your blog entry as fast as it can to place your post on the 1st page of the search engine.

5.) Submission of your new blog entry to social bookmarking site is a great help for your blog post to be indexed as faster in the search engine. This is also one great source of big traffic. But a simply advise, do not over submit your entry as Google might penalize and de-index it in search engine.

6.) Use social networking sites like friendster, facebook, multiply, twitter, plurk and others. Put a link of your blog post on that social site and watch out if this could bring traffic to your site.

7.) Blog something that will give interest to your readers such as gadgets, a little bit of entertainment or even scandals. (wink).

8.) Blog also for a controversial topic no matter how funny or silly it is.

9.) Blog for a recently happening like typhoon, earthquake or volcanic eruption. See how the last controversial scandals brought a big traffic to all the blogs that used that keywords.

10.) And optimize your site’s design. Choose for a theme that is SEO ready, avoid many plugins and limit your blog into 2 up to 3 columns. Make a target that Google will first crawl on your blog entry and not to other plugins from your other site sidebars.

 

It will take some time to improve a sites reputation. But, if you constantly add new and fresh contents on your site then achieving it is a possibility.

 

What crack pipe are you smokin??? I am making it to the top 3. I am already at "#6" for my key word phrase and that has only taken 1 1/2 months. My niche is competitive but it's not like I'm trying to beat out Macy's here....Just looking for advice on how to move into the top 5. It's usually a bit tougher so I was looking for tips. The other sites got there so eventually I would think if you do things a little better, you can make it....
