    that's what I'm talking about:
That is problem, how does news anchor decide what is news worthy what is not?

Think about what you see when you turn on the news... What's going on in your town that affects your life? When you're a reporter, it's your responsibility to tell viewers/readers what they need to know or what happened while they were at work all day. There could be a crime spree that they need to be aware of. Or, the city council might be pondering building a new park that would drive up your property taxes. An internet marketer wanting some publicity for his new website isn't going to cut it ;)

Yeah, you guessed it. I already have the traffic though and a 5000+ strong client list from the past 15 years. I have my press release written, just waiting for a few things to be added to the site... haven't officially launched.

That's why I want to wait on the press release. I need to get my site to the point that it will get attention when read.

To be honest, and in this day in age, local reporters will probably be the last to run a story. I'm thinking it would be better to go national and then target specific media markets.

I tried press release twice, not successful, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Frist time I paid 24-7pressrelease.com to publish it and distribute but nothing, I found other PR distributer but they are expensive. What is your plan?

Or, how about checking these guys out... I haven't used them personally, but I know some that have.

    BlogTalkRadio.com

Otherwise, you can use some Press Release websites to get it out there.

Thanks, how Milliondollarhomepage.com guy manage to get news portal to publish his story, it is not very important for people, selling pixels (I would say selling tiny banners)

He sent out a press release of course. He went global to go local. It wasn't the selling pixels that got him news attention, it's that he was selling a million of them for a million dollars.

Just concentrate on being seen and making an impression. Public awareness of your business is the best press you can get.

On a side note, is it also a plan of your marketing strategy JoesMillion what you have in your signature? It just says " 2 sold, 998 to go. Started with no traffic July 30, 2010.... now at 288 uniques per day." with no link and no such information in your profile too. What is it dude? It creates curiosity.

I kinda agree with what nicole said.

If it's not different and interesting there probably won't be much media interest.

    Hence the term "news worthy".

the thing is, if you pay a lot of cash you can get in the press pretty quickly. its all about spending if you dont have 'news worthy content' spending power, ;)
