Hey guys, first foray into mainstream and I'm a bit out of the loop.

I've done a lot of the obvious stuff to get more readers to my review site, and I have a nice collection of writers populating it with unique reviews on a regular basis.

Just wondered if any of you vets here have any suggestions for getting more readers to my site. Any input is appreciated!

    The site is: ComicNerd.com

    Thanks!

Well, first of all I'd consider staying more on the topic.

The first article I saw was "Halo 3 Xbox 360 Achievements Leaked Online"

On your slogan you say: "Comics Reviewed".

... and then the visitors leaves ;)
(okay, perhaps bit exaggared statement, but I'd consider thinking about your focus. 7/10 articles were comic reviews, rest of them were halo/whatnot stuff - perhaps okay, perhaps not?).

Then you could also add RSS feed and a newsletter (to get people back to your site).

I would definitely go for a contest: arrange some contest where readers can win comicbooks - I'm sure it could get attention.

Last but not least, here are some traffic tips and here some more traffic tips.

Simply put, relevancy is not an issue on my site. In that particular niche there is a lot of flexibility with pop culture and putting yourself in a little box is a mistake imo.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort, but does anyone else have some tricks or tips that aren't so run of the mill?

Social bookmarking, myspace, seo etc - I understand all of it and the need to be utilized; but anyone have some specific things they do regarding myspace or social bookmarking that was a good formula they don't mind sharing?

Don't be afraid to get technical; I'm only getting warmed up in this industry.

One thing you could do is:

Start a comic carnival. Where you link to worthy posts from other similar blogs. This will get you noticed by other comic niche bloggers. And some of them will link back to you.
