Sometimes its hard to be listed in DMOZ. I don't know exactly what factors they put in consideration for a site approve, but I think that it depends as well from an editor.

The one surefire way to get listed is to become an editor in your desired category. Otherwise, you may as well forget it, because the chances of being listed (any time soon at least) are very slim.

How many days, months or years you have to wait to get approval from Dmoz???

I was adding my website to a category as:

    # : Top
    # : Regional
    # : Continent
    # : Country
    # : Main Category
    # : Sub Category
    # : Sub Category

What I saw is that this category was last updated on September 23, 2007. So, you can imagine if you add your website in this category, how many years you have to wait to get it approved.

Although Google Directory pulls data from Dmoz, here is the comparison between Dmoz and Google Directory:

Google Cache for the category: Dmoz category was cached by Google on 1 Sep, 2010 whereas Google Directory on 6 Oct, 2010.
Google PR for the category: Google Directory->PR=4, Dmoz->PR=N/A
