What is actually the problem? Don't they approve it? Are you sure it is good enough to be included into DMOZ?
First, choose the right category for your website, say if you are about to submit a web based online calculator, the category you want to choose is ->Science: Math: Calculators: Web-Based, if you have doubts in choosing the right category, just search for your keyword in the dmoz search and it will show the right category for your submission. Simple. Be patient till they accept your submission. Do not resubmit the same website many times. Hope this helps.
Make sure you submit your site to the correct category and once submitted forget about it, I submitted 4 sites, 2 got approved...
It's a little bit confusing when first time you use it... Choose categories that you want in details. Then, follow the step stated to add the listing.
I think they sometime consider to the region, I mean to say if you are in Delhi, then you first choose to asia then India and then choose the right category you want to choose and then submit. I think this will help you more here.
Not big chance or surety that your site will be included in Dmoz. Don't bother if they don't add. Submit once and keep the exact page url on which you have made a request. The category should be related, and one advice that use domain names as your title. For example if you are linking with the title "Seo Company", then use there "Mydomain" in the form. Better chance of approval. Dmoz prefers alphabetical listing, mentioning your URL.
You have to find out that what Dmoz wants, they wants that the websites which are to be included in their directory should be social, should help the society, not only for the purpose of business.... Yes, we all know that we are doing business here but we should also take care of our society, so consider this thing. Make your website which looks social, provide some content which are helpful for the society, discuss some where on your site about poverty, education, child labor, government policies etc. If you think that everything is OK all pages are working good, your website started having visitors then submit it to Dmoz and don't be so hesitant, as it takes time to include your site, may be six month as well. Finally, I would say best of luck!
i have tried many times with many different websites to get a listing in DMOZ and it has never worked. in the past few years i've just not bothered adding my sites because they're neve going to get listed. i think the overall perceived value of DMOZ is going down anyway, so i'm not worried. Concentrate on smaller, upcoming directories like the one in my signature
Submit to http://www.dmoz.org/add.html, pray, and get ready to wait months or years before anything happens if sthg will ever happen ...
Wait a few weeks after you submit. If you are still not indexed, try a new category for your listing. Eventually it should work.
Just submit your site the way you submit it to other directories. Review their guidelines and be sure to meet them for you to be approved. It takes some time to be listed on this directory so you have to wait.
