The truth is you can never find the best placement from other, what you need to do is try different placement at your website to find out the best.
There could one spot that you can put your adsense ads. Right under the huge blue horizontal widget widget you can put a 728 x 90 image or contextual adsense ads. that is my personal opinion and if you need more info go to google heat map and that can give an idea of places where you can put your adsense ad effectively.
