Any suggestions for best laptop under $1,000?

    Hi,

    I'm looking to buy a laptop and looking for suggestions.

    I'm looking at an Acer Aspire AS5535-6631 (http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?langauage=fr-ca&product=2540335) $650+taxes

    Are Acers any good? What about Gateway?

    I'd like to get the best possible laptop for under $1,000 taxes/shipping in. Main use will be for work - web research, website work, running different software at the same time...

    Thanks - Any recommendations appreciated :)

    You have to be in India if you want a laptop in less than $1000 and good quality. My lap top is about equivalent $600 here.

    I would prefer Dell laptop than Acer... Anyway you can get much cheaper laptop at eBay..

    don't go for Hp and Acer . go for dell studio really rocks! , if you can raise your budget to 2000$ then go with xps series.

    I've got a Dell home computer and dont have many complaints - the Studio looks good. Never had an HP but Ill take a look..
