please check out the forum at my middle signature link, i found that it's really hard to attract new member to join the forum, anyone here have suggestion to help me, thanks guys.
If the market is saturated, and I think it may be, then it's rather hard... You'll need to offer something that other related forums do not offer. The easiest thing is unique (and more importantly useful) content. Be active as an admin yourself, start threads, even if no one is replying...eventually they may. Youhave a LOT of boards at the moment, and it's hard to fill them all up. Maybe cut down on some of them until you get a larger active member base. Like maybe under your webmaster category, merge all of the boards into one master one... it should be fine to exclude the Search Engine board, as that one is the most active... but merging the rest until there is a need for them will make it LOOK like that part of your forum is a bit more active. As that entire section is secondary to your main theme, it should not hurt your numbers/ranking/etc. Don't delete the forums, just disable them (set them to 0 in the forum manager > forum > display option, and no one will see them). If one of the individual topics takes off, then set it back to a normal forum and move all of the related posts... yeah, it can be some work, but it's better then a huge empty forum. Your other board with sub-forums can likely all be merged as well...then put back should that particular topic warrants such a board for itself. Start small and expand! Once you are "small" then you can start promoting your forum and when people find it, they will not be overwhelmed with a bunch of blank space (which is generally a HUGE turnoff) Q
