Does anyone know of any high ranking, popular or successful .me sites? I know it's early, but it would be interesting to see a few, as well as what they're ranking for in SERPs.
Depends what you mean by high ranking, popular or successful! I've seen plenty of .me sites already, try Googling "site:me"
I'm a newbie so forgive me, but why would a .me site have a more difficult time ranking in Google than a .com for example?
I don't think search engines specially Google treats tld's any different. So be it .com, .org, .net or .me all should be the same. There are a few tld's like .gov, .edu that people say have high value. But otherwise I don't see any difference. SticKer
I don't think Google treats TLD's any different, but it does generally take quite a while for any website to get ranked and then build its rank. So if someone was going to register a .ME domain, design and develop a site for it and then get it ranked on Google, it would take some time - especially as .ME domains only became available a couple of months ago.
I have seen new domains indexed by google within weeks of registering but getting a high ranking could take sometime.
NO idea but i have never seen some good site ranking high with .ME extension. may be they will take some time to get some reputation from google or other search engines.
I figured as much. I'd just be interested to see any .me site that has had a lot of funding & work put into it (think last.fm, etc), or if any noteworthy social networking sites have ever been created from premium .me domains.
