I tried social media lately but the results are not that impressive. I am sure that there are lots of things that need to be done right and I would appreciate if you could post here some successful stories of a certain brand / site. Thanks!

Are you spamming people are actually building relationships with them? If you take the time to build relationships and help those in your niche, you will be successful. If you think this is going to happen overnight... think again.

I had tons of success look at my signature see my followers, make tons of money as well, and also look in my signature a great guide explains a lot all about twitter
I've had excellent success with Facebook. I use it mainly to connect and build relationships with my target audience, but also as a resource for when I need opinions about stuff or whatever. I wrote a blog post about the benefits of using a Facebook Page, and how to set one up (including utilizing a landing page, which is super important). I'm about 650 fans deep since starting it a month and half ago, and some threads have been up to 30 comments long. As far as driving traffic, it's not as good as twitter, but the traffic is stickier and they seem to view more pages and spend a longer time on your site. I talk more about that in the blog post, as well. Unfortunately, I'm too new to this forum to insert a link here, so if you'd like more info about it, just tweet me at @patflynn and I'll respond with the link. Thanks!
I was thinking of bringing visitors to the site, converting better, raising the brand of the company.
