Lately I've been finding that many of the pages on my main site are displaying the exact same AdSense ads, even though the content differs from page to page, sometimes significantly. So I've been considering adding section targeting tags to my pages to see if I can't get more specific/relevant ads to show up. My question is, has anyone experimented with section targeting on a big scale and found success with it? Or do you not bother with it, and get adequately relevant ads without it?
I've used it on a few of my sites that weren't doing so well, and the result was pretty good. My CTR went up by about 50% on those sites. Try it out and test it for your self, that's really to only way to know if it works well with your site.
I've just put section targetting on my site recently, about 2 weeks ago i think. I'm not sure if they are having any effects at all but Google does say that it may take up to two weeks before you see any changes in the ads displayed. Also it depends on how much content you're placing within the section targetting block.
