just wondering, is it possible for google to ban subdomains of a particular domain w/o banning the main domain?

i was thinking if free subdomains are being penalized by google since these sites are likely to be MFA or spam. i am working with 1 right now, its not MFA or spam. i am planning to make this an affiliates promotion type website.

a check on google with inurl:789mb shows several of these sites with PR0. i am tempted to get another domain name and a new web hosting plan if this free subdomain is going nowhere. in fact, its not even cached, taking a rather long time to compared to my previous sites.

subdomains is considered as different domain from its main domain... so i think the domain itself will not penalized if google banned the subdomain...

Well , Google is not that nice, I believe that they would ban the whole domain and its sub domains. I don' t think they would waste time in making a difference

i am saying that subdomains by free web hosts might be banned or at the very least penalized by google. thats why i am asking if anyone here had success in getting high ranking for such websites.

now, why could google penalize such websites? because its free to setup, and spammers or MFA ppl can easily use them to produce mass spamming or duplicated websites. when you sign up for free web hosts, you can use your own domain name or a subdomain, such as domain.webhost.com. so it is easy for google to track such websites down, simply by having a record of the domain names of free web hosts.

so lets say host company 'Example' had a record of hosting spam sites, then google might have banned ALL websites that had ----.EXAMPLEHOSTING.com in their url, regardless of the content, SEO, or anything.

i tried searching for websites under free domain by using "inurl:webhost.com" and the results doesn't show much success. most of the sites have PR0. so right now, i am thinking of buying a domain name for a site that is not in my top priority right now.

If you're serious in what you're doing, do yourself a favor and get your own domain + hosting.
It's not expensive and you will have a complete control over your site.
Starting a site on a subdomain and than moving to your own domain is the worst thing that could happen to you ;)

agreed. having a domain is cheap, but hosting multi domains is expensive, at least for me. I don't hold a job since I have conscription, which also means I cannot devote as much time to my websites as now. guess I will just take it as an investment for bigger things... in the future that is.
