Any other snowboarders here at DP?

What mountain do you ride at?

Even though its still August I've been hearing this winter its going to dump tons of snow all over the states. Its supposed to be one of the best winters we've had in a while. I've been checking out the new Lib Tech Snowboards Mullet Magnatraction. I need a new snowboard soooooooooooo bad. What board are you riding?

    Thanks Joe...

You know Phillip and the MaxxLifestyle crew?

I see those ABC-of-sites all over the place.

I'm a pretty avid boarder. I'm in Florida now, but I used to live in Alaska and I would tear it up at Valdez, Hatchers Pass, and mostly back trail mountains. I went to resorts every now and then, but usually we would just get our snow machines out and go seek out the powder.

I am a big fan of boarding in Washington State and Canada as well, especially Whistler Blackcombe.

I've been snowboarding a few times. Mainly Europe but I was in Canada this year. A newish resort called Panorama.

Tried new step in boots and bindings and ened up stacking it big time...luckily there was an outdoor spa at the hotel :D

I think I'll be going to Whistler in Jan or Feb so looking forward to it. Has anyone been there?

I love Snowboarding. I haven't gone lately though. Been too busy with work. :(

That's good to hear that this winter should be pretty intense. Last winter we had a ton of snow but I didn't get a chance to do any boarding.

What setup do you guys use? I personally love my rear entry K2 bindings, with my K2 lace free boots. I use a Ride Decade board. I'm mostly a big mountain rider, love to do jumps and ride on fresh powder. Unfortunately, I think I get injured more often than I don't when we ride on these ungroomed mountains, lots of snow means greater chance of avalance, thank god the large majority of them are super small, but are definitely big enough to knock you on your ass or bury you slightly. This is why we always travel with beacons.

Anyone do a helidrop yet? A couple of the guys and one of the girls I board with have and it was pretty awesome watching them do it. I have yet to take that leap but I'm thinking I might do it this year after I get several really good strong runs in. I'm confident in my abilities, but if you mess up that jump then you could be in serious trouble.
