My target keyword is "vietnam travel". I submitted my site to several dirs with anchor text "vietnam travel", "vietnam travel information", "vietnam travel guide" etc. I follow up suggestions I found here, but result still doesn't come.
Note that my site is 5 months old only.

 

Depends on what kind of meta tag your talking about. These days "keyword" tags have little bearing.

Title tags, Descriptive tags, and header tags should all reflect the key phrases you want to return under. Mainly having good content and a website that is of benefit to the end user. Once you have this you need popularity and your going the right way about that so far.

Gain Inbound links "one way" from sites that bear relevance to you and from sites with high pr.

 

VN For a 5 month old site a PR 3 is Good look at generating links from good quality sites maybe max can help dependent on the quality of the links. When it comes to generating links I maybe able to be of some assistance PM me.

For the key word Computer cleanup you are not poorly optomised the title tag needs updating. But you do have reasonable content. However the people you are chasing on this keyword are massive.
Link popularity shows the level of competition across the 4 main search engines.

Thats the main difference to begin with I would optomise for more specific phrases until I have built up the popularity.

Well best of luck. The title tag would make an impact. I can generate 1000 quality links over 12 weeks. Relevant and high page rank non recipicol im if your interested.

Keyword Targets are Britool, Sykes-Pickavant, Beta Tools, Devilbiss.

Its hardly anywhere for the above except sykes-pickavant which its on page two for.

It is doing well for these search terms devilbiss gtiw, acr4, circlip pliers amongst others. But the money words are those above. I really should be doing a lot better as the sites above me seam to have very little SEO done. Where as I have lots of anchor text rich one way links, a couple of .ac.uk links, dmoz listing. When I compare the back links of the sites above me they don’t seam to have good anchor text, rank or be relevant.

As an example if you search for britool you get this site on page 1 hd_tools, now I cant see any reason for this site to do so well. Then top page to this site avenue_thirtyfive has hardly any backlinks and there all irrelevant as there to do with badminton and it’s a tools site.

Any pointers on what Ive done wrong or should do to improve. An article submission service was going to be my next tactic.



*note, all the above is in regard to google results. The site preforms very very well on MSN.

Here's one for ya - how do you create thousands of sites that aren't totally worthless PR0-1 spam pages without spending many thousands of dollars?

 

is there a difference between blog and website seo?coz some people said a blog is easier to get ranking in the search engine than website...
i dont know maybe that's html only website (without php) that not doing well enough where as many bloggers today use wordpress as cms, they manage to get high rank with more updated contents? can someone explain me this..
