I don't know of any search engines designed to specifically search forums, but most of the search engines i know of, do crawl and index forums while crawling the rest of the site the forum is located on.
I'm working on something simple.. so just wanted to see if there's anything similar already or if you can give some tips.. the idea is pretty simple, forums are not built for adsense, people usually post good info in forums, so almost everything you search, you can always find in forums!
yeah.. the problem is I'll probably have to exclude DP, WMW and couple others. BTW I thought WMW needs a subscription to read it..? it's not just for webmasters, it will be mostly oriented on general public.. yeah it will be a good one! After I've tested the demo couple times, I can tell you google sucks a big time
I agree with you that sometimes the build-in search function gives a bit to much (unrelated) searches, what I do then is search google for something, example.. http://www.google.com/search?q=site:forums.digitalpoint.com+Michael_Goldman But your planning a search engine to search the forums. Might be an interesting thing, I like this script, http://www.isearchthenet.com/isearch/ you can easily set one url to spider, search results are great and the spider can index the forum every hour/day/week just what you like.
Well I think you could use www.Rollyo.com. Manually index the pages that you want to search and you have a forum search.
dang, someone had posted some link of a search engine specially for forums. but I dont' remember when and where By the way, Google shud introduce some "tag" to search specfically in forums like - [forum: how to use adsense]
Hi everyone, I'm new here so nice to meet you all. There is currently a software that will simultaneously search up to 15 of your favorite forums. You do have to opt-in to download it, but it's free. Because this is my first post I can't add the link here, but just type in "bot surfer" in your favorite search engine and you'll find it. Hope that helps.
