Any SE tool that tells you where your website ranks for a certain keyword?

    I personally don't think there is a "valid" way to track them. SEO is a very dynamic, always changing thing. A method that works well for one site, might not do anything for another site. This is because your "efforts" aren't the only factor. You have to take into consideration all the elements you have no control over, and those are different FOR EACH keyword.

    There is very much an art to this. There are basic principles to follow, but it's very hard.. if not impossible to "track" what kind of effect each individual thing has. SEO is not as concrete as something like PHP.

    I think the best thing to do is to analyze and keep an eye on the top sites of the keyword you are after. Also, it should be easy for you to see what works via trial and error for less competitive keywords that would be considered "associated" with the more competitive one you are after. Patience is also a good thing. NOt seeing noticeable results right away, doesn't mean your strategy "isn't working."
