Ive been reading theregister's post on RegFly and its history... I wanted to know if anyone here actually experienced that. The downtime, the disappearance of domains..etc
I recently bought a site from someone which was register at registerfly. Now I'm stuck more than two week, cannot make any changes to the name server or transfer the domain to other registrar. I'm not sure what to do now cause, I called them they said they were down and tell me to wait. No one answer the ticket. huh!! tisa
Welll if you read the link i provided up there you will see that there has been alot of drama going on at regfly...lawsuits...hacks...and what not... you won't get any support but you might get some help from their faqs maybe @richie ni Well lets just say "General Knowledge"
I have been with them for a while and had some problems, but it seems now that they moved to FL and broke away from the NJ office things are improving.
A lot of people had problems with them, here's a list of just some of it: http://www.webtalkforums.com/showpost.php?p=41402&postcount=26
Truly pathetic the crap they put people through and continue to put them through. I read a thread at namepros where they blame it all on a co-owner or something. Real dumb mess it is.
I wonder how many domains total they lost their customers? 10s of 1,000s? We are members on forums like this, but many of the domain name owners probably had no clue on how to get their names back and just let them go.
I think they will loose around 75% of their registrations by the end of this year, i didn't loose domains but know many who did. The email hosting and api registrations are down ATM. Transfers are working for me.
Man... the regular domainers who did nothing wrong have to pay for Registerfly's corruption... This sucks.. Registerfly should at least compensate for the losses they caused.
Like I have said in another thread, a great lady from enom is helping me. I can get anyone in touch with her who needs some assistance in getting their domains back. But you have to pay $80.00 instead of the regular reg fee if they have expired more than 30 days ago.
Why not take a look back to this forum, there are many posts in relation to both Registerfly and the users experience. I'm Registerfly's user too but I'm really tired to talk about the same over, and over and over when it is already written out there.
registerfly.com...moving to Florida. That's scary. After twenty five years in this state I'm getting out...not because of hurricanes however that does play a major factor. Florida is the biggest scam state in the union period. Good luck to all.
The real question: what is the best domain registrar to use at this time? One that is reliable....trustworthy ect...I'd like to know.
I used to use regfly a lot and obviously had to suffer from the extremely bad service for the good price.. but hey! After I've read that regfly's CEO used the money to buy whores, alcohol and stuff.. thats money well spent
