Any recommended site building software out there?

    Hello All,

I stumbled on this site late last night and it kept me going
into the wee hours of the morning. Before I get on to posting
a question, I would like to thank all the knowlegeable folks
that take the time to share their experience here. It is much
    appreciated.

    Well here we go.

Although I have blogged and have several dozen sites up,
none are specifically optimized for adsense. Thus the
    following question:

In building a content driven site optimized for adsense,
is there a particular software or website building platform
that should be considered and why?

For example, I am looking at articlelive from interspire (dot) com
and am wondering if this or another option should prevail over
a more generic "from the ground up model"

Thanks in advance for you help!:)

Ok, perhaps I am taking the wrong approach to my question here so let me expose my thoughts a little further.

My objective: build a content driven site that is optimized for adsense

My perhaps misguided idea on how to approach this endeavor:

    1) find a reasonably targeted niche without insane amounts of competition that have decent payouts and several advertisers. (So far I have my sites set on one that has approx 15 million results in google, 30 thousand monthly searches on overture and over 20 advertisers paying over 1$, does this make any sense or should I keep looking?)
    2) register a dot com domain with keyword(s) in the title
    3) Divide the site into main sections according to the most searched for and highest paying keyword/phrases
    4) Write some A1 content for these sections and supplement with articles and other free content from public and other allowed sources
    5) write my own articles and submit them to directories
    6) submit site to directories
    7) get as many relevant backlinks as possible
    8) use SEO software to optimize pages
    9) possibly use other advertising means to drive traffic to the site
    10) Add those nice little adsense boxes to the site in the best position possible.

This is my "plan". If you can spare me any measure of pain, error, disapointment, loss of time, ressources and/or stress related allergies, then please, by all means...

Well nice plan, everyone's plan looks like that :) If you can follow, and resist to complete your tasks then make it.. there's an important question, how much is your budget? you can't do this without budget, at least if you don't want your site listed at the end of the 30million ...

Btw good plan, keep making sense..

Go look @ www.joomla.org [free open source Content management system] heaps of good modules that you can plug in.

www.seochat.com uses joomla, not bad for a free script :)

Are you looking at overture pricing? With adsense, your site will be subject to smartpricing and its unlikely you will be getting paid anything close to $1. There are a lot of adsense publishers who would be happy with 25 cents, and currently receive 5 cents a click.

You don't need a budget - just a lot of work. It is entirely possible to make six figures in a year - but realize the majority do not make $100 a month. Build a website people would like to visit. Start with a topic that you have interest in - not just one that you picked because you think it will pay well.

15 million results in google doesn't mean much - you need to look at the top 10 or 20 ranking sites. That is your competition. There is likely a ton of competition for a high paying keyword with good overture - for someone just starting, you may get discouraged by a task that can easily take a year or more to start ranking well with google.

Adsense is NOT a quick way to get rich. For the smaller percentage that commits the time to testing, development, research, it can pay extremely well. Everything you need to know to make six figures or more a year can be found right here on DP.

    Thank you for your input,

I do actually have some web experience and budget if such a thing helps. Which it has to when you know what you're doing. Which I don't really.

For instance, budget can help you with link building, traffic and directory submissions to name a few. However, only hard work in the long haul will allow you to reach the levels of success I suppose we all dream of...

I realize there is a wealth of knowledge on this site and that is why I have taken the time to join. It is a pleasure to read but a proccess that can take some time...

I don't suppose there is a blue print somewhere or a simple getting started guide? It is clear that as with any endeavor, there are more and less direct roads to success.

For now I want to jump in and only wish to avoid as many obvious mistakes as possible, the ones that would not be apparent to a newb but could be skipped with the help of the more experienced.

    Cheers,

    Z
