Hi, I was wondering if there is any kind of problem with my directory Qoobe Business Directory. Last month I had about 2.5k uniques and the Alexa Rank was 299,000 and this month its 329,373 though I've doubled the promotions and I've bought some banners in other high traffic web directories. So is there any thing wrong with my promotion methods? Or something else? Thanks
Alexa doesn't really mean that much, what is your actual traffic like compared to the 2.5k you had last month?

Don't worry about it, as I said Alexa is not that important due to it's lack of accuracy. Remember it only records data if a visitor has the toolbar installed and as you get more 'regular' traffic from search engines, etc most of the Joe public won't have the toolbar.
Promotion is not something that you can quantify, in that just because you run an ad or campaign you get instant results. Campaigns will vary and consistant campaigns will work better for you, people reading these ads today may respond in three months time, there are many variables to consider.
There is a problem with Alexa, it doesn't do its job properly just like the PR fellows. As intelligent directory owners suggest stop relying on 3rd party tools.
Do n't rely on Alexa it's only 50% correct as it will not detect visitors who do n't have an alexa toolbar to increase your Alexa rank ,Put a Alexa widget on your site So that every visitor will get noticed by Alexa
It probably means there is fewer webmasters that are viewing your web site. Don't bother to improve your Alexa rank, it is basically useless (unless you wish to sell your web site, as it may be considered as a good sale aspect). - Meti
