If you put the time and effort into marketing the site then there's no reason why a site like this can't become successful. It's a very competitive market, the adsense market, so bear that in mind.

As long as you add unique content to the site then there shouldn't be a problem. I think you may need to work on the SEO of the site and try to figure out which keywords you want to get ranked for.

Microsoft Publisher 03, wow!! No wonder it's turned out like it has lol. No, seriously, I would worry more about traffic for now. The design isn't a major issue. I often use a designer to do a template design for me. Or you can get many free templates off the web.
