Lets make directory transactions safe.. Can any directory owner be sued for any reasons ? Can any legal actions can be taken against him for whatsoever reason - in terms of online deals ? Should we create a legal policy or terms of services etc, put up on our directory to make directory business safe ? Looking for replies from all directory owners and particular from big directory owners..
This can be formulated as each directory will have a recordable intereaction between vendor and client,in the way of the web page reference, and/or including any email, or similar text message that may be additional to the specific transaction or transactions However I would be very hesitant to persue the type of defaulters you are likely to experience in directory sales, as possibly over 95% of these deal violators will be:- Men of the Straw, with either zero or negative cash net worth
Someone in the States got a mulit-million dollar Court award because they spilt hot coffee on themselves....I guess that means directory owners could be sued for just about anything
From my personal life, I have learned the hard way you can be sued for anything, no matter how irrellevant. Unfortunately, if you can't afford to defend yourself, it does not matter if you did anything wrong.
No business is safe from being sued. You can be sued for anything! Even the big directory Google gets sued quite often. Can't forget the good old KinderStart dot com lawsuit for being given a poor ranking in it's search engine. At least the judge was smart enough to dismiss it. Scott.
