If its strip poker Im out... 500 fellas and mella - no offence mella, but Im not sure its worth seeing all those blokes just to see you
Yeah maybe it wasn't such a shit hot plan, man. I have never played a game of poker in my life so I may aswell just take off all my clothes now and be done with it. [exits thread]
None taken . You're probably right. (Especially if Nintendo's playing. I think I would rather gorge out my eyes than see him in the nude. )
I can just imagine him playing... "I call your $20, and I raise you 100 fingernail clippings and a handful of dead skin."
I missed the 1:00 game. I'm in whenever you guys want to go a few hands. We should come up with some currency-to-product conversions. Things like "PR3 Link = $50", "3 months web hosting=$20", "Site Added to 50 directories=$50", "nude photo of mella - $200", "nude photo of nintendo - minus $200" - things like that. If you have enough money at the end, you can buy your own things back. After that, the big winner gets the choice of his prizes (in accordance to his prize money) and then 2nd place gets his, etc. until it's all spent.
So did I. I tried Yahoo's Texas Holdem but I don't like it. Its basically a glorified Chat room and you can't bet more than a 2 point raise at a time. THere is no "all in" or raising the bet which is the very essence of Texas Holdem. I played 5 rounds and got bored. I ended up downloading Poker Superstars after a long Google search. The downlaod is free for 60 minutes then its around $19 to buy the game. It has all the people from that show on TV and its really good. I thought I would give them a link because I went through about 10 programs that ended up just being virus's or spyware so I was surprised to get such a good game. If someone knows an online game thats similar to the one I linked to, I will definately play.
Sure I play poker, I think that we should just get a private table going and whenever there are people online play
Thats what we have been trying to do, except we haven't found a place that offers high quality play. Yahoo's don't even follow the actual rules of Texas Holdem and seem to have been modified to make it easier for the masses. Whats left is really boring....click.....click.....click....New Game...click....click
My poker advice is never raise on a draw to an inside straight. Fold it. Your chances are very low that you'll actually hit it
If yahoo won't work PokerStars dot com is a great site. Free play money games. We could setup our own room. Easy to use interface as well. They also do some of the best real money games around. As far as history on them, the last two WSOP champions have come from PokerStars. Just an option if interested. I'm still game for whatever.
Ahhh, I thought that you guys were just trying to get a table going for a one shot deal. I have noticed the same things about Yahoo but that is the only site that I have ever used. I don't play online games very often. I am not sure what the best alternative is though, maybe I will go through my directory submissions and see what people have posted for casino sites today That sounds like a decent place, I haven't gotten a submission from them so the site is probably good. Can't check at work though blocked site.....
I play blackjack... we like to travel to the US casinos and take home American money. The last two trips I took home over $1000 US. Poker is other people's money, blackjack is house money and that makes me feel better about winning...
Hello, Mentioned this in another thread somewhere, but will post it again here too. I'm UK Contributing Editor of 5th Street Poker Magazine, which is based in the US. It has been distributed free in casinos for a couple of months, but has just landed a US and Asia newsstand distributor so is taking a couple of months off to make sure the upcoming issues are all top notch. If you're looking for a quiet, free place to play poker then it's worth checking out www.redlightpoker.com. I will point out that in some ways I am affiliated with them in that I know a lot of the guys who run the site, but then I know a lot of guys who run other poker sites too and I'm not here to recommend all of them The site is still in beta testing stage, so there's no real money involved, although they do have weekly tournaments on Thursday nights with $1500 in prize money up for grabs. They are free to enter, so worth a bash. Anyway, the rooms are quite often empty, so worth a go. Let me know when you're playing and I might well come join you. Oh, and Hold'em is my game. Recently took part in the World Poker Showdown Caribbean Cruise event which I was covering for the magazine. Met Chris Moneymaker, Layne Flack and a few other big names. Lost a lot of money too Cheers, Baz
Here in Palm Springs we have five casinos within 20 minutes. I play Hold'em often, i just got back from Laughlin, NV but for a big gambling location Laughlin only has low limit poker. I enjoy playing in 6/12 or 8/16 games. We actually have two hot poker rooms one a Casino Morongo Resort and one at Agua Calienta Casino.
And never chase a straight when you are facing a boat. It seems like a simple concept, but when you are at the table and you aren't sure if the other guy is bluffing it's hard to do.
There are many good sites out there... most people prefer Party Poker because it's full of beginners so winning money there is pretty easy.
