Any online service to develop android apps like this? I just need a URL from my website shown in a webview of android app. This is fairly simple, the code is freely available on internet. My problem is that I cannot use google studio, does not works with screen readers. So I am either looking for a website where I can enter URL, and they create the webview app, or someone who will do this for me in google studio and give me finished & signed apk to upload to google play store, for a small fee (its pretty easy work). I'll provide the splash screen PNG if needed. Anybody knows a website where I can build this app, or someone who can do it for me? Thanks
If these are your only requirements, I'll be able to do it in a day or 2. If you want more features, it might take longer
I've just discovered jasonelle and am recommending a client move their apps over to it. Go take a look. are you providing an online service?
@sarahk I tried buzztouch. Not sure what is going on there. I found a plugin on buzztouch which adds a webview activity and will load URL. Clicked install, it got added to a plugin list where some others are already there (which I did not added) And now I don't know what to do... Is there some service which will just ask me to enter URL, and will create webview app, will give me final APK file to upload on google play store? Developers in my country are asking about 25-30 USD for this type of app, problem is, they are not reliable at all. I already got scammed twice in the last 3 months... Second one has delivered the app, but they uploaded it to their playstore instead of mine, and are not taking phone calls anymore... I downloaded command line version of google studio tools, but again, not very sure what to do with these without a project build...
The key signing process is always going to mean they stop short of the apk. With Jasonelle we're looking at doing the android version in house (ie me) and the apple version outsourced - but because it's all json driven the compilation and keysigning will be cheap. Even then we're budgeting way, way more than 30USD. Have a good close look at your business plan for the app. If you can't recoup $30 maybe it's not worth doing?
I'll do the key signing using java. The point is not that its a $30 app. Point is people in my country are very much used to using apps on phones, rather than opening websites in app browsers. This is why I want an app. All the app does is loads my homepage in the webview, so now people can browse the website via the app, instead of via the phone browser. Nothing special is done in the app version of the website, except less javascript, and a different template. Both managed at server side. Apple does not even allows apps this simple in their stores. But apple people are different. Most would know how to make a "clip" and use that instead of typing the URL in browser. Android users are very different from those in my country. This is the whole reason why I am looking for an app...
Whenever I am having difficulty figuring out a app, program, language, library etc. I take a break from the pc turn on the TV and spend a couple hours watching YouTube video tutorials. Then I'll return to my pc read some sites and then get my hands dirty...
