    Hello Friends

I am planning to add Google search box in my blogs and websites. But I do not have any idea, how much money you are getting from this ?

So if you guys have any experience with this than please share with me. I will be highly obliged.

Take Care and Keep Clicking :)

I have been using it once, but my sites were way too young then to make a reasonable comparison...still I dont think its worth.
The Ad-units work best for me... As Project Mobius said - I also never earned good cents from the search, although, I've never used it for a long-enough time, so maybe someone else around DP will give you more info.

I use it. On a good day, it can pay maybe 10% of the days income, for maybe 1% of the total clicks.

But it's there as a convenience to my visitors (like computerstudent above). I don't do anything other than to take the cash to the bank.

And I think we are putting one exit gate as well, with this search box ... what do you think ?

    Hi,

I think that anyway if users can't find what they want in our site immediately they are going to close our web page. But with search box, at least they will search the web through our site; thus automatically generating revenue for us by clicking on links displayed. So I optimisticly think in this way rather than thinking it as a exit gate.

I have talked about this from my many online friends and they remarked that they have seen many visitors exit from Google Search Box.

But with that I also heard that someone have earned even $0.70 from a query, and I think $0.70 is quite good with current scenario.

i had a site for 2 years, not english, and it had G searchbox on it - I must say it brought pretty nice income - at 40 queries a day, the CTR was 3% and the clicks somwhere at $0.4
Also, the search box for me was a great research tool. I stored all the queries in my database and used them as new content ideas. This worked very good, and it was very funny to see what people are typing in :)

I used a Google search box in the past but I didn't make much from it.

Visitors to your site need to click on the search results in order for you to make anything.

If they can't find what they want on your site, they're going to leave anyways. If they see a google search box, then they 'may' go there.

Google also shows 'search' advertising in the search box. You're showing 'content' advertising on your website. Advertisers can opt out of the 'content' ad network, so I think you get a better quality of ads in the search box.

I set the search box to appear in the same position on every page, so the visitor sees it constantly. Like I said, if I'm going to lose those eyeballs, I want to lose them to google and make a few bucks, and like others here, I've seen good payouts on single clicks, enough for me to keep the box.
