Do you know of any one who became DMOZ editor recently? I am wonering whether netscape stopped expanding DMOZ, they are not taking time to add new editors, i guess.
I am getting a feeling that DMOZ is not what it is cracked out to be. Maybe it got too big to be of any use.....I don't know yet it is just the feeling that I am getting reading these posts
Applied 1-feb-2005. Accepted 20-Feb-2005 The category I applied for had 2 sites when I applied. It has 7 now, including one of mine. I declared it when I applied and listed it in my affiliations when I first logged in as an editor. I am thinking of applying for greenbuster of a similar category that I have no interest. That is the only way I am going to get enough edits in to be any good at it.
I was laughing about this earlier but just read on msn.com that the pope is in coma Vatican seems to deny it though. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7263878/
so the myth about people joining to only list their sites is true. in 6 weeks you have managed to add yours ,,,and 4 others... quite a productive month an a half. (don't missread this post, i am not anti-dmoz anymore....love the place actually....its the editors that somehow quickly add their own sites and ...hmmmmmmm,,,maybe shall i ...shall i not.... add a couple more...hmmmmm) sitetutor...i would have given you my vote
Yeah... pathetic isn't it, SM? Really, the more time goes by, the more difficult it is to find ANYTHING positive to say about DMOZ...
i would be happy to see the entire discussion removed from the forum... the WHOLE DMOZ BOARD and any threads referring to dmoz... it always ends up with bitching, bickering and gets antagonistic...and there's a lot of flaming knocking about in these threads. DMOZ is in theory a great place, i understand the editors a lot more now...what they are required to..or not to do...and i see where they are coming from...i would get annoyed with multiple submissions, and millions of 'why isnt my site listed' posts. however they did offer to do it, for free !!!!
