It might be so, but I tried both for so long and the main thing I liked about Drupal is that you can easily theme it, and most of the structure is not dependent on tables...

Joomla is better for community type sites. If you have a static site that you want to be able to manage, I wouldn't go with Joomla. Joomla is extremely powerful and has loads of features, so it gets a little excessive for small sites.

WordPress is by far the best. It's always being updated, and new features such as the Google AdSense customization is great. Drupal is very good, as demonhale stated it's by far the easiest to theme. Joombla! is a great piece of software, but when it comes down to actually customizing your theme it becomes a little difficult. Theming for WordPress and Drupal is much easier.

I'd use Joombla! if I didn't know a thing about programming, because it's got a great Admin Panel, is well documented and can be used by anyone.

Surprised no one ever said PHP-Nuke =P Joombla, Drupal, Mambo, PHP-Nuke...I feel there all the same thing.

I thought Joomla was a full blown CMS while WP was a bloggers CMS.

WP is a bloggers cms, but it can be used for static content as well. It has built in page management, and what not, so you might as well.
