Any One heard of Grandcentral from Google??

I was on my Blogger Dashboard recently when i read some thing in the Buzz section about a New Phone service by Google called Grandcentral.
I do not know much about it but all i read was that its in Beta version and can only be used in the US for now. it said it will be expanding to other countries soon.

does anyone know much about this service?? well it sounds cool to me and i would love to sign up for it but i need more information.
Can anyone tell me more about it??

 

Grandcentral is basically a 'grand central' (i.e. grand central station in NY) for all your communications... it's a 'unified phone management system'... like a caller switchboard of sorts, but also accepts IM and SMS and twitters if I am not mistaken
