I just read this story on digg and just wondered is this something you guys always do or is this just this guy who is going to start this trend ?

I have an Idea if any one is interested. We can set up a very small data centre at home and provide this rent a pc in UK or usa kind of thing for webmasters living in India and they can have full access to the pc they rent like weekly monthly or yearly subscription. any one of you think this is a feasable business idea? or am i just being stupid :)

what i am trying to say is one can set up a number of boxes and tent them out to people who have slow connection so they can use them remotely
for example you buy a new script and its 15meg in size and you just download it on the remote rented pc unzip it and ftp it up on your server using your remote rented pc and your slow connection on your local pc (the one in India) wont slow up your work
hope i was a bit more clear in explaining what i mean
do give me a shout if its still not clear :)

I dont think that would be a feasable option
coz the operating sys we would need would be xp and the boxes a bit more like our home pc rather then a dual xeon :)
£150-175 a box is what its going to cost if one buys 50-60 boxes

and hiring racks wont be an option will have to do this stuff in basment with a few commercial connections from the local isp
this is what i think is gonna be more cost effective or am i dreaming the impossible

the only sad part is that this is something which is not for the long run coz isp's will come up with better prices and better speeds very soon in places where i think the main potential customer base is but then we got loads of african countries following suit.
