Forex isn't allowed here at DP.
    Risky business.

Do a practice account for a yr. or two (most large Forex brokers offer them and they're free). Then and only then put money on it. Chances are great you won't make much if anything at all.

i wrote my university final project about this. the advise with the practical account (not real money) is good if you are not yet experienced. Forex is either technicaly based (daytrading) or longterm based with macroinfluenced (interests, inflation, empl..,...etc. etc.) parameters. So you might should read something about at least one of this subjects.

also set yourself a good cashmanagement by diversifying the assets. and decide in which vehicle to invest (futures, options,....).

ah yes ... and search a cheap broker otherwise it is hard to succeed if you
got less than 100$ to invest  LOL:D

My thesis is also about forex trading, specifically about the mean of profit derived from forex trading using different periods of SMAs. Next week I'm gonna have an oral exam about my reseearch.
So forex is not allowed to be discussed here? A bit agree,.. if it is, it won't make any significant use as well since there have been many "settled" or specialist forums in forex-related topic.
By the way, it's good idea to start a simulation account for months or a year. I did it half, now stop for a while coz I need to focus on thesis. Good luck!

I gave Forex a shot maybe a year ago with $1,000 to see how it would work out. It still interests me, but somebody else has my thousand bucks now... :(

Seems like a excellent opportunity if you know what you're doing and have time to follow the markets and world news very closely. Actually, there's a whole lot of factors that need to be considered. Like whenever the president sneezes it causes the forex markets to get shaky, well, just kidding on that - but important politics does make a difference.

I think I'd rather just focus on building my Internet business...

My understanding is its currency exchange. Basically you buy a certain currency in hopes of it rising in value compared to another currency.

But , for me Forex is very good make business at home, anyway I must a lot of study it and practise it.

Don't trade in live account before you understand all about nature forex.

Skill for trading will increase by yourself when you have time enought for it.

Not easy but Not hard to study it

**** I got 100-200pips per day for this business ****

Hope my comment will help you.

    **** Learn , notice and succesfull ****
