I think an on-line menu preparation and meal costing system for small restaurants would be a great idea. Most small restaurant operators don't have a clue how to do this well. Make it free to use then when you get enough customers using it you form a buying collective for ingredients/equipment/etc. so that members get the buying power of large organizations. You make money by charging a small percentage on all purchases. The customer still gets a good deal and suppliers benefit from being able to sell to a lot of restaurants without having to market to them individually. Do the maths - if you can get say 100 restaurants using it you'll make good money, 1,000 restaurants and you'll be laughing all the way to the bank. Talk to some restaurants and chefs about the problems of menu preparation and meal costing.
