Hey everyone, I have a 1993 Acura Integra, and I got a tune up oil change thing, and they said I'll need to replace my timing belt soon. I heard this can be expensive, like $600!
I'm wondering if there is any guides to changing one, do it yourself kind of thing.
Maybe someone will be willing to have a video conversation to help me figure out how to change it?
If you know how to change one, and can instruct me over a web cam, I'll pay you $100 (PayPal) if you think it'd be worth it for me to do it myself.

There are a few other things I'd like to get fixed, something wrong with the alignment they said, said it's not very hard to fix.
Also a muffler problem, car is loud as hell lately :D That I'd like to fix :)

    Thanks everyone!

timing belts need to be done by a professional m8 , if you get it wrong your in the shit basically . just find a small local garage or a mobile mechanic to give you a price for fitting , you buy the belt yourself :) the belts are cheap enough , its the man hours and tools they have to use that costs the money , but you should defo shop around local m8

unless you know what your doing, leave timing belts to a pro.and if the timing belt breaks, you will bend your pistons and rods and then the engine is shit

Turns out I don't even need a timing belt for another 40,000 miles.
Was putting in some new speakers today, they didn't fit in the speaker casing, so I had to remove that and drill the speakers to the metal.
They look fine in there, but I ended up breaking the side mirror cover on one of the doors, so now there is a bare metal spot :( oh well, sounds nice :)

Not into the whole INSANE amount of bass thing.
I got 2 sets of 4-way speakers, 140 watt in the front, 160 watt with blue LED lights in the back.

Getting a 1200-watt amp and two 12 inch subs.

Building a custom speaker box for those and the two other speakers.
Recarpetting the inside after that, same day. Speaker box will be hidden and look nice :)

    Oh, i think i can see why it is so expensive, is it because;

    From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_Integra#Second_generation_.281990.E2.80.931993.29

Am i correct, because of it being a rare car, it is expensive to fix?

It's an expensive fix for any car, so I'm told. It's because they have to pull apart the engine just to get to the timing belt.

I was wrong about my car, it's actually a 1994 Acura Integra. I don't know what model it is though, I think it's the LS.

$600 for a 90s Integra sounds about right to me. Don't even think about doing the timing belt yourself.

I just had the timing belt done for the second time (160K km service) on my Peugeot 306. I can't remember the exact cost, but it wasn't pleasant.
