Any luck with site-targeting?

Has anybody had any luck using Adwords site-targeting campaigns? I've set a few of them up earlier, but I haven't see any impressions. Am I naive in thinking that $20 CPM is reasonable?

I'm running on just under 100 sites right now for the $0.25 minimum CPM. Too early to really gauge the overall success of most of the sites right now but things look positive at this point. At $0.25 per thousand it's almost hard to not make it work:)

You're bidding $20 per thousand and not getting impressions? Must be a very, very profitable sight you're trying to run your campaign on.

I'm also still trying it out. At $0.25.

When choosing sites look for those which have eye catching ads.

I tried site targeting and it did work for most of the sites, I targeted 7 sites.
3 of them had at least 100 click thrus for 5,550 impressions or similar the other 4 had no clicks... I think it ended up costing me more money in advertising then in sales. But at least it got the site name out their to the people.. They were mainly australian tech/internet forums.

Try those same ads on sites, not forums. Forums tend (at least in my experience) to return a lower ctr. Forums tend to have a high number of page views per visitor so your ad ends up being in front of a smaller group when it's all said and done.

Site Targeting = Money in the Trash Can

Thats my experience. .25 CPM now? WOW, might go try again. I don't get hardly any clicks on my ads... and they are targeted well. I might try .25 CPM... I quit running adwords cause It didn't seem to be adding to my bottom line, just taking away from it.

Personally I love site targetting. It's not hard to get very targetted visitors and good CPC.

Pick sites that place well in the serps (any of the major engines) for your target terms and have decent on page placement of their Adsense block(s).
