Just keep them cheap. People will buy. I have a PR4 website making $100.00 a month from $10.00 links. In total I make $250.00 per month from Linkworth, not a single advertiser has cancelled (one had a failed credit card), and my most expensive link is $35.00. Keep it simple and they will buy. At least that has been the case for me.
Yeah, I lowered my price from $64 to $45... can't go any cheaper than that since my site if PR6 with 10k dialy visitors And don't bother with fetured links or any other fancy stuff, it won't help much since there are already loads of featured sites. Just keep a normal listing and hope to get an advertiser one day.
The Billboard thing works as follows: you create a .php or .asp page on your site with the name they give you like: travel-anxiety-relief.php. (This is an actual example, so I'll stick with php.) Then you insert code like this on the php page: <?php require 'http://www.linkworth.com/act/partner/billboards/inclusion_billboards.php?adv_billboard_id=134&prt_website_id=4522' ?> Then you link to travel-anxiety-relief.php on the regular pages on your site. The actual billboard code is on the LinkWorth.com servers. This makes me exceedingly nervous. Can the Googlebot read pre-processed php code? Who knows? Why take a chance? I've told them I don't think I can do this unless they let me publish the HTML the "require" statement pulls into the page at load time --- as a straight HTML page. Anyone have any thoughts about that issue?
I just copied the billboard's text on to a page on my site, didn't use any of Linkworth code and had no problems
Me, too, Fryman. That's probably what I should have done without raising the issue with them. We'll see if they accept it. Thanks for the info.
I have had the same 3 ads on my site since I first opened my account. They all signed up with in about 2 weeks of each other. None of them have cancelled, nor have I had any more interestin putting links on my site. Not going to complain about the $42 check I am getting every month though for 3 small links on the bottom of my home page.
