Hi, I am doing a web site that will have a lot of text on the homepage. The site will maybe not even have any subpages as all info will be on the homepage. Any ideas on this? Can I have like 100 paragraphs with different headings etc. - all KW rich? Thanks.
I would guess by doing it this way that each of your sections would be davalued due to dilution by the other sections. Just my thoughts, not 100% sure.
Yes, well about the KW density I know of - it will sure be much lesser. Hmm. 100K, 95K is per lipsum.com: "150 paragraphs and 14358 words". I think that would do. And when I reach that I could start with the subpages Any other issues on this?
Yeah, 100k seems to be the max... I think with Yahoo it's 500k, and recently with Google it's 400k, where anything that exceeds the first 100k is truncated but still indexed? I'm not sure. So, just to play it safe, the max size should be 100k.
I don't know why you would want to do this. Most people get bored with a site once they have to scroll more than 3 "screens" and having a page with topics jumping from the one to the other might not be the best way to attract visitors. For SEO you could run into problems. It's much better to create seperate pages for each topic and optimize each of those pages for the topic.
SEO is one thing, can you make people stay with your words is another. Remember, they are reading off a pc screen not a book's page. Give it another page with a title "Tech Gadget continues .." or something. If they like the article, they'll click. If you bore them, they won't even get to that part. Give it a break when it's natural to do so and focus on your topic. Do not create a page with 100 paragraph unless you're Hemingway
It's for a FAQ with links at the top to each question in a dropdown menu. Each question has an anchor name and if you select it you jump on the question. Reason I want to keep it on one page is that it can be read as a tutorial from start to finish and it makes the page easy to search with CTRL F. No, not for adsense nor for SEO - for the visitors.
Try to slit those pages into different categories or sections. It is best to keep a page below the 50K bar line. You will have more control over your seo this way. Even if the search engines claim that they do not index more than 100K, facts are facts. Google is known to index a max of 250K while yahoo sometimes indexes a full page as big as 400K. However, you don't have any control over those pages and it is known that good rankings is only allotted to pages that are small, hence as i said, split those pages and you should do well on the serps.
Ok thanks webmistress. Will probably do as your say. It is a bit more effort to program the PHP as the answers are based on a db but will probably do so. As for right now the site is not started and there is not even 1 paragraph but when the time comes and it hits 50K I would probably have the solution for the subpages.
better to split into many different pages. search engines can index them separately. more pages = more opportunity to display ads.
