WTF ?? yes they do earn less money if you live in the U.S. and a coder / marketeer lives in delhi etc. its funny but generally india coders that make it to the U.S. / UK are soooo much better than the coders that come from the uk / us.

and the plus + they communicate, they have good manners and they complete the job

    Nice post lavista4u

While i'm not indian. (i'm actually filipino)
i run the same life.. i've been in corporate for 4-6 years and i resigned from the corporate life and started my own business/freelancing. online business that is.

The pay isn't very rewarding and compared to being an employee. i remember back when i'm still working as a java programmer the pay goes at $1,000 / month. and i'm the cheapest!

Now i have to learn php for freelancing. java doesn't have demand compared to php.. anyway now im in poor house going in and out of the $250 / month and i have to support my family!

Like in india philippines is also Family oriented culture. Me and my family stays inside our mother's house and that's alright. so we do not pay bills much that's how we survive.

doing freelance programming jobs is very hard work with little pay

zorah, it's all depends with whom you working, believe me! you can easily do more than $1k a month as php freelancer. I even surprised that you don't. I hope it will change very soon, good luck!

IIT'ns don't get 10 times more than other programmers .

Don't tell me i know many IIT'ns they don't get more than 1300$ as a fresher . sometimes even less than 1000$ .
Now don't tell me you were talking those with good experience, because once you get 4+ Yrs of experience they don't even bother to look whether you are an IIT graduate or an MCA Graduate .
I know plenty of MCA graduates who are making atleast 2 times of what Iit'ns are making .
Old days have gone my friend , Nowadays hardly anybody cares about the institute in india

I am a Indian but I am based in Seattle, USA. I am just 19 and make about $5,000+ online. I pay for my own housing and college tuition.

I know a lot of Indians making good amount of money online. Just to give a quick example, I am a very good friend of the owner of www.livemocha.com (both the owners are Indian), it is a company based in Seattle, he makes more than $300,000 a month (he also owns other websites). I think by the end of the year he will break the $1 million a month mark once he starts monetizing livemocha.com. Livemocha was just funded $6 million from starbucks.

Anyways I think a there are a lot of successful Indians and personally my aim is to break the $10k a month barrier by the year end working part-time ;)

An indian who lives Outside india has a good chance to succeed .Take an example of Offers in B/S/T signing with CC Offers(people who live is usa and who are in this forum can easily make a quick 15-20$ a day without any hassle But again that ain't enough if you are located in UK/USA but it's good to give you an initial kick/Boost in your a$$ , after you make your first 100 bucks you feel pretty confident , later you start expermenting various things because you always know that you will keep getting those kinda offers every now and then.
just complete small offers and few data entry jobs .

You keep getting scolding from your parents until you make a real cash .:D

But yes they are several Advantages too.

1)Internet crime is not an issue here so people tend to test many things

2)Most of indians i know always use pirated software .

    Likewise many more things...........

I said they should be getting! I have real life experience with a large company where a fairly large company, where BTech (freshers) from REC (regional engineering colleges) are getting a minimum salary of $1100 [Take home] + Incentives + Cab and 6 days working where as freshers from NIIT is getting just $250 to begin with. :)

    I agree with you here!

:p How do you know I am getting older now? indeed my reflections are slower now ;) but I disagree here with you, that IIT as brand doesn't matter at all.

I was in Cebu for couple of months, Philiphines is just like India but with more fun ;), Cebu is fast devloping as an outsourcing hub, lots of companies in BPO...like in India.

Cebu has also opened up IT park..but salary is less like in India...everyone speaks english...Indians companies like Wipro has also opened branches in Cebu to cash in on english speaking pool.

I was more at Paseo than in front of the Computer :)

Hopefully, I will be in Philiphines soon :)

thats good to know that many of the Indians are fluorishing the online world.
BTW, i am quite new here but have a little hold about webmaster\'s arena, and was wondering what you guys mean by \"Marketing\"?
What all is involved or required to be a internet marketer?

It would be lot helpful to the noobs like me if the senior guys shed some light on this.
    Regards
