Marketers Need to hire some proggramers for their work, if you can code it by yourself and don't let your idea leak out wouldn't that be nice?
I only want to tell you that you can earn a lot easily, working alone at own convenience, But you have to think and explore, Dont get trapped in foolish things like a lot of guys do. anybody can easily make 10x what programmers make, by exploring, its true, but nobody will tell you who makes money here.
Yes, no doubt, Jim you are the inspiration for indian webmasters including me, i would rather say that u are an ideal for me. Still a question in mind 'are u still located in INDIA or USA ?' because this is what REALY MATTERS for various causes. thanks
It's really great to see a success stories related to Indian IT specialists. Unfortunately, all my attempts to work with India were unsuccessful and just a waste of time. A webmaster examined a project, accepted it, set a price .... and disappeared.
even there are many indians like Alok Jain, Dr mani, Raam Anand and many more who are doing great online
It is really sad but a very bitter truth. My employer gets paid $33 per hour for the work i do. But do you know how much i get paid per hour?? I hardly get a $2 per hour paid. And the firm i am working is currently considered as the Top Indian MNC. Hope most of you would have guessed the name
It is you who will make it happen - make your livings online. I m not an Indian , but a Bangladeshi from Your neighbor country . I was a freelance programmer before starting working online . From March 2006 I work full time online and not only mine but making now 16 members team living online plus some savings as well. Its not easy , many things depends on this. Your core (programming, marketing )skills, business skills, resources many things. Once you can build a pool of satisfied customers , then it will be easier for you.
@jimkarter: You an Indian? And you earn $47K a month!!! MY goodness!! That's Rs 18 lakh/month *faint*
I'm from India and I totally work online... Indians who are starting out now, should put things in perspective and take all negative in their stride before venturing out. We are very different from USA..in US..there is a lot of encourgement, if you start out a new thing, people support you around, getting a venture capital for a start up in US is no big deal. In India...its totally opposite..you need to have an established mark online or offline to get funding, no one will support you when you are down..but when you come up..everyone will be behind you..its the familier story we all know..and it is still true if you wanna start out big. No wonder they call America..land of unlimited oppurtunities.. I started out at 1998-99, when net was taking birth around the world. If you ain't IIT, IIM after graduation...forget about funding, Its all shallow talk, i have being to sequoia capital, icici venture, tata funds, relience one, etc years back and got rejected...reason..im no IITian and i have no experience..the similar ideas and guys with qualification in US had lots of funding and grounds to stand upon, its another thing that they failed, but still, they could come back and many have come back, but in india..its once or never.. Lots of Indian who went at that time including Sabeer bhatia etc..made millions in America.. We can't compare America with India, lots of contradiction..yet we have too break our way in..even if we are to make a living online.. My parents never supported me sitting all day in house in front of a computer in a closed room..i used to come out only for food and then shut myself out, natural to them, they never knew, how much internet hold the potential and all my old education is useless in front of the new world on internet. if you are new...get ready for hard times, Internet especially for us Indians is the at the MOST hardest when you start OUT to make a living online..cos we have no base support..no paydayloan stuff, no easy personal loans and credit cards. Get ready to face your parents, if you plan to work online with no offline money support, prepare yourself, to convince them, how much potential internet holds...99% of the folks in India will give up in the first month itself..its not because of the talent but lack of support.. To people who are not from India. India is still a very family oriented conservative socialist society, we are not allowed to stay on our own, untill we get married and now a days..its is harder for single men to find a house in big cities in mumbai and delhi, cos residential societies, do not accept single men for fear that, that will.... It took me 10 years to work completly online in India..yes 10 years..I used to make some dollars here and there through marketing and programming....but it was not enough to support me consistantly..there was no steady flow of income..and when you are down...you are out..there is no coming back..i went offline and then came online again and it went on for years, untill i had a steady income...now i could live in thailand for some months and philiphines for some and still be free.. If you are from India..You have to be persistant for a longer period of time, Don't give up, its not about, how smart you are..its only about PERSISTANCE, PERSISTANCE and some more persistance... While you are starting ..CLOSE YOUR EYES AND DON"T EXPECT ANY HELP..the very reason you will fail online..is you are expecting the dreaded word called "HELP"...you have to start on your own..come up on your own..DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING.. Thats the Mantra to be successfull online...If you have buffer stock..so much better..if not...get ready to face your parents and some hard times ahead..but eventually..you will come out successfull. Good Luck.
lavista4u, wow, very serious, but how much you are making now ? I expect something like jim karter, 98-99 years for internet is a gold mine
