Hello all I have just created a new forum, a forum for parenting and baby talk, from been pregnant to breast feeding to nursery's. We also will be donating all our monthly earnings ( once we start ) to the childrens hospital in London ( UK ). Our forum website link is: www.proudbabys.com . Problem now is where do we advertise our forum? we was going to go to other forums a like, but they will think that im trying to steal there members if you get what i mean. Traffic is problem of most website owner. Even some of the good forums to day find it difficult getting people to sign up. Just trying to tell you, you need to work hard and it's achievable. First of all optimize your forums and build back links slowly. Find your keywords and ensure they are related to your niche and start drivin traffic to yur site using article marketing, blogging, as well as other well known forums.
Type in "baby forums" in google and check out your competition. PM the owners of those forums and ask if they are selling advertising space, etc. You need inbound links.
See how your opponents are doing it. Check out their forums/websites and eventually advertise there, or see where they get their backlinks from It might become a good forum since you're donating earnings to a charity, use that to your advantage
vote for aquarezz another thing is MAKE YOUR SITE BETTER before costing extra. I mean you should build more pages, add more positive links and write more helpful content at first.
If you have advertising budget, then use Adwords or other popular sites. You should also go for viral marketing since you mentioned you will donate the earnings. Might help, but yes some people will doubt also.
