Hi - I have this website helpingtheweb.com and it's main focus is to help podcasters/bloggers make money easily. I sent out a press release a few weeks ago and I've been emailling podcasters and bloggers about my website. So far I'm only getting about 1 unique vistor per day and no sign ups. Is there a better way to market to this niche maket? Thank you.
I would recommend submitting your site to directories. You may be able to find directories in you niche by looking at this list of niche directories.
The problemwith seo is it's a long term strategy. I want money now No I'm just kidding. I tought about seo but I don't how to do it.
As long as your content is useful, you will get the traffic to increase. I have a website that is up and gets low uniques per day, but I'm gaining SEO spots almost daily (i check MSN and GOOGLE, search for the terms and my site is getting higher spots). Keep emailing, and sending messages to people through messageboards, maybe print out a flyer on your computer, and get to your local photocopy place and make copies and pass them around your local area. A lot of people under estimate the local advertising market. - Robb
Also, repeat exposure to your target audience, for example you're reaching alot of bloggers by posting here or at other webmaster forums. I can tell you a couple I know of whose members might be interested. www.smartmoneyforums.com (appears to be up like only one day per week, though...) and www.webmasterworld.com There are certainly many more but I for one haven't gone out to find them on google
My opinion is Making money = lang term strategy. OR you pay money, advertise your site, ppc campaigne, Adsense, writing in any forums and emailing. It's hard but, money come not easily.
I have 10 pages of content I added in Feb, not one of them pages yet has had a hit as reported by stat server stats, and using link url search on Google, not one of the pages has even been indexed yet.
I have a great idea.. I am currently writing the script.. PM me if you are intrested... Dont worry it is 100% free.
Read through this and other SEO forums, and you'll end up with more useful information than you know what to do with. And if you're serious about making money on the Web, it's definitely in your best interests to learn SEO... Sam
Article writing is a great way to get started, if done right (i.e. if articles are interesting for you target audience), article marketing could prove to be a very effective and low-cost way to attracts visitors. Try out Mr Crow's article submission service it's great to get your started Since yours is a niche I highly recommend giving PPC a try - just try it out for a month at a low budget, tracking everything (VIP!) - see how it goes. This trial will be able to show you which keywords convert the highest. With this info at hand you could create some keyword optimised pages, articles, press releases etc to target these high converting keywords. Just my 2 cents here. Hope it helps
With careful management, I'd say using AdWords with AdSense. If you have the content, then you'll soon turn a higher income on Adsense over your expenses on AdWords. I say this from experience. My visitor numbers are up daily and so my eCPM rate rises too. I started learning about SEO here on this forum and am implementing on my site as I go along (i have hundreds of pages- so it takes time). The first thing I started doing was articles. I submitted to only a few directories and already there's a good number of visitors coming in from there. So, my advice, do both of the above to get your visitor numbers up. .
I agree that article submission is a great way to drive traffic - not just from the article directories and webmasters who pick up and post your articles, but for increasing your visibility in the SEs, as well. Most article directories, especially the larger ones, are heavily spidered by the SEs - provided they don't have a 'no-follow' directive in their code, the SEs will follow the link to your site and (hopefully) index your pages.
