Any ideas on how to get a domain from sony?

Sony Music owns this domain I want, it's for a musician that hasn't really been active commercially for about 5 years but sony hasnt updated the website at all. Their last update to the website was about 4-5 years ago and they've owned it since 1998.

I run the official site of the artist, but sony was the last label that his album came out on, so that's why they have it registered and promoting their product.

I tried sending an email to the domain admin, but i get nothing...does anyone know of any other ways i could possibly get this going, I imagine they have the domain on auto-renew since they don't pay any attention to it.

    thx

Sony won't give it to you unless you have a lot of money. Why would they waste the time?

I would have the artist talk to sony. that is your best bet. if he is no longer with them, he may have a legal leg to stand on...you'd have to check with a lawyer who knew about internet rulings in court.

Good luck man! Unless you can do it legally, thru corts -- there is no way Sony will give it up, even if they're not using it. The fact that you want it, will give 'em a reson to hang on to it, 'caus you're probably not alone.

Getting a domain name from big companies involves legal issues, trademarks and lots of money.

That's why people prefer get zony, soni, sonny somy, etc. etc.

Trademark it and do nothing for 6 months,
then send them 3 letters recorded delivery asking to sell
for a reasonable price. It should wake them up.
Why not just buy a lower level domain like an .eu etc?
